Swing Operator Hours: Sunday Off; Monday Off; Tuesday 12am to 8am; Wednesday 12am to 8am; Thursday 4pm to 12am; Friday 4pm to 12am; Saturday 8am to 4pm Job Summary:Under general supervision, operates and adjusts equipment and instrumentation. Treats wastewater discharges to meet Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) standards prior to release. Major Responsibilities: Operates and monitors computers, charts, dials, pumps, chemical feeders, laboratory equipment, meters, and gauges to determine status of various plant functions and regulate flow of wastewater through treatment plant. Reads and records chemical usage; fills chemical feeders; mixes chemicals; changes reagents as needed. Maintains filing system of operations and maintenance reports. Checks motors and pumps for excessive noise and temperatures. Ensures plant is safe and secure. Performs plant maintenance, grounds keeping, and housekeeping duties. Available to be reached during off hours in the event of an emergency. Available for shift work as needed. Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments as required.
