Description
This position description identifies the major responsibilities of this job. It does not include all aspects of the position such as the potential additional duties assigned by supervisors and the requirement for flexibility in helping others for the company's overall benefit.
POSITION WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The training manager will be a key role in overseeing the design, development, implementation, and content standards of all training related to internal technicians and external customers. This position will oversee development of effective training classes, workshops, syllabus development, and trainee testing protocols. The top candidates will be innovative, strong decision-makers and outstanding facilitators of learning, development, and change with a technical background and deep understanding of training content development best practices. This position is expected to be a strategic thinker with a high degree of organizational and time management skills. Must also have excellent research skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop internal and external training, syllabuses, and testing to ensure customer can see a step increase in their employee's ability/productivity from each training class/workshop.
Along with feedback from the Field Service team, identify and assist in addressing the training needs of the internal organization through job analysis, career paths, consultation with managers and subject matter experts. Develop onboarding process for new Technicians and other technical employees part of Lifecycle Services.
Develop and facilitate classes/workshops, video seminars and consultative products.
Develop individualized and group training programs that address specific business needs.
With the help of subject matter experts, develop training standards, manuals, workbooks, training collateral and implement effective and purposeful training methodologies.
Ensure regular occurring industry leading training classes/workshops to a variety of technically adept trainees.
Coordinate with Duravant's fellow operating companies on content development and lead global efforts of standardization of Foodmate related equipment training.
Effectively manage training budget and revenue to ensure ongoing business and departmental growth.
Evaluate organizational performance to ensure that training is meeting customer and business needs and improving performance.
Assess trainers and trainees' skills, performance, and productivity to identify areas of improvement in all areas of the department.
Drive brand values and philosophy through all training and development activities.
Keep abreast of training trends, developments, and best practices.
Effectively utilize available software tools and other resources, which include but are not limited to: CRM system, Bill of Material system, machine manuals, assembly drawings, part drawings, etc.
Provide input for Eblast topics: Utilize Eblast responses as opportunities and work with Inside Sales Representatives to ensure seat utilization and online product sales.
Track and report success of sales made from all methods including Eblasts.
Coordinate follow-up to customers that purchase training to ensure long term relationship.
Generate new ways to drive revenue, improve EBITDA, and improve operational efficiencies through effective growth of training content and class availability.
Assist in development of promotional materials and execution of marketing plans to ensure revenue growth and continuously improved competitive position.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Track record in developing and executing successful training programs and business growth.
Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills.
Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools.
High degree of organizational and time management skills for self and direct reports.
Strategic and creative mindset.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to manage others.
Travel up to 25%.
Knowledge of machines and machine components.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee is often required to sit for long periods of time and use their hands and fingers in order to use computer equipment, handle paperwork, use the telephone, and work with product-related components. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach. Occasional need to lift up to 50 pounds. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate but can be excessive in manufacturing and processing environments. Vision abilities required by this job include color and close vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional travel in an airplane and automobile required.
