We are looking for a Data Analyst for one of our clients, an investment bank based in Montreal , to join their Credit Risk team .

Mission

The primary goal of this assignment is to provide day-to-day services to our client, encompassing the investment and corporate bank units, along with their clients, to expedite their transformation process.

The team at our client's end is committed to delivering daily services to international investment and corporate bank units, as well as their clients, to accelerate their overall transformation. What sets our client's team apart from competitors is the swift implementation of agile transformation, the promotion of technology and data culture, the reduction of decision-making timelines, and the adoption of a genuine industrial approach. This involves leveraging various teams, both transversal and aligned with different sub-business units.

Currently based in Montreal, our client's team consists of approximately 5 members. The selected resource will closely collaborate with the extended team in New York, resulting in a total team size of 10 collaborators.

  • Help in actively developing various applications with a focus on As-Agent
  • Integrating features into an in-house ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) system and Python scripts for technical implementation.
  • Achieving visualization through PowerBI as part of the technical setup.
  • Capacity to work efficiently with a dynamic team of 5-10 people

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Providing functional support to risk analysts and front officers involved in the counterparty risk chain.
  • Gathering requirements from business partners and prioritizing them based on directives from the Product Owner.
  • Collaborating with users and fellow business analysts to understand user needs and translate requirements into effective solutions.
  • Creating functional specifications and documenting system and process workflows.
  • Ensuring compliance with agile and continuous delivery methodologies.
  • Overseeing comprehensive testing of features and generating necessary artifacts.
  • Coordinating and executing phases across various environments, and presenting test results to users.
  • Maintaining close collaboration with individuals across different locations, including the US, France, and India.

Competencies

  • Possess at least one year of Business Analyst experience within a financial institution.
  • Demonstrate competence in understanding and editing Python scripts.
  • Efficiently handle various priorities, commitments, and projects simultaneously.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is beneficial.
  • Capable of serving as the main point of contact for business clients, with the ability to comprehend and document company requirements and priorities.
  • Display enthusiasm for acquiring new knowledge and presenting creative solutions and ideas to the team.

Technical skills

Required skills

  • Familiarity with Investment Banking.
  • Competence in SQL, including the capability to read and generate queries/stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with PowerBI.
  • Proficient in Python/scripting development

Good-to-have skills

  • Understanding of financial regulations in the US or internationally.
  • Familiarity with principles and literature pertaining to Credit and Counterparty Risk.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, DEC, or equivalent technical Certifications

Languages:

  • English: Mandatory
  • French: plus
