Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Histotechnician to join our Clients dynamic laboratory team in Port Chester. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on either the 2nd or 3rd shift from Monday to Friday, with shift differential pay available. A sign-on bonus is also offered for qualified candidates.

Role Responsibilities:

• Contribute significantly to patient care by embedding and preparing slides for routine H & E and special stain procedures.
• Perform and document scheduled preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues in processing, embedding, cutting, and staining when necessary.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards.
• Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and quality control standards.

Qualifications:

• Possession of a New York State License, preferred.
• ASCP required
• At least 1 year of laboratory training or experience in performing high-complexity testing is preferred.
• Strong skills in reading, writing, and analysis.
• Proficiency in operating general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
